Autumn Garage Stove: Assess the Surroundings Before the Shield

Vitcas HT Fireboard for compatible protective surfaces

In autumn, the garage often changes its function: heating appears, and more equipment is stored inside. With a workshop stove, it is necessary to revisit the space requirements. The heat shield should be based on a confirmed solution rather than being an addition to a randomly left free wall.

Record the conditions of the entire room

Check the stove manual regarding location, flue pipe, and air supply. Mark fixed equipment, stored materials, and service routes. Changing the rack position may be significant even if the stove itself remains in the same place.

In the section, show hidden wall and ceiling materials. Add required clearances and connections needed for inspection. Do not determine distances from wood solely based on the temperature resistance of the sheet that is to be installed in front of it.

Choose the function, not the common colour of the board

HT Fireboard has described protective and finishing tasks. CS Fireplace Construction Board is used for other specified indoor constructions. Selection for the garage must maintain the material range and requirements of the entire device system.

Fireplace Render is applicable on appropriate masonry surfaces. A layer of plaster is not a substitute for any panel or support. Check the substrate, fastening, and geometry suitable for the chosen solution.

Describe the inspection specifically

Examine the available surfaces when cold and record any observed changes. Distinguish inspection of the surroundings from testing and acceptance, which have their own scope. Do not present just a photograph of the shield as confirmation of the safety of the entire room.

Keep the plan, stove documentation, and data on the materials used. After relocating equipment or changing the way the garage operates, check the location again. Such a record allows evaluating the actual conditions of autumn use, without attributing all protective functions to a single panel.
